Who Wants to be a Millionaire Finland (“Haluatko miljonääriksi?”) kicked off on January 23rd, 2016, on Finnish Nelonen. Right from the start, the show captured the Finnish TV viewers’ hearts. The episode 6, aired on February 27th, gained a total of 1.5 million viewers (with an average 1.168 million in the age group 10+), and broke the all-time records for Nelonen. During the season, the show has maintained its huge success with a million-scale audience week after week.
The Finnish host, media personality Jaajo Linnonmaa, has not only become the most successful presenter in Finland, but a real phenomenon in the Finnish media scene.
Who Wants to be a Millionaire is based on the format of Sony Pictures Television, and is the most popular game show in TV history. Currently, it’s being aired in over 40 territories in the world. In Finland, the top prize is one million euros.
